Theo wins Las Vegas world pizza making competition

Theo Kalogeracos, author of the stunning pizza cookbook - Theo and Co: The Search for the Perfect Pizza - has been awarded the title of world's best pizza maker at the 2010 World Champion Pizza Making Competition in Las Vegas.

The contest consisted of a ‘blind’ bake‐off between the first and second place getters of the event’s Traditional and Non‐Traditional pizza competition categories.

Winner of the Non‐Traditional category, Theo impressing the judges with his desert pizza “Strawberry Fields” – creating history with the first desert pizza to win the category.

Theo beat approximately 50 competitors who gathered from countries around the world, representing Italy, France, USA, UK and Canada

Theo's cookbook, which details his unique pizza making method, also won the 2009 Kinokuniya Cookbook of the Year Award.

About the author:

Theo Kalogeracos is the award-winning pizza maker and proprietor of Little Caesars Pizzeria in Mundaring, Western Australia. He is the 2006 Las Vegas Italian Chef Wars Winner, 2006 Pizza Today's Italian Chef Wars Winner, 2004 member of Dairy Farmers Team Oz that won the America's Plate, 2003 Australian winner of Dairy Farmers Best of the Best and 2003 Western Australian Pizza champion.
