The Faculty wishes to offer our congratulations to the UWA Research Collaboration Awards (URCA) winners.

The UWA Research Collaboration Awards (URCA) provide funding to support new and developing initiatives that will expand the University's external research collaborations both nationally and internationally.

The Faculty winners are:

Associate Professor Herbert Iu, Professor Victor Sreeram, Assistant Professor Ba-Tuong Vo - collaboration with the University of Sydney - project title: "Next generation high efficiency and reliable photovoltaic power system" - $5,000

Research Associate Ivan Haigh, Winthrop Professor Charitha Pattiaratchi - collaboration with the University of Southampton, Antarctic Centre, Tasmania - project title: "21st century changes in extreme sea levels around Australia and the UK "- $10,000

Research Assistant Professor Christine Hanson, Winthrop Professor Charitha Pattiaratchi - collaboration with the University of Washington, Seattle, Institute Ocean Sciences, BC Canada - project title: "New insights from ocean gliders: comparing oceanographic forcing of phytoplankton dynamics in two very different Eastern Boundary Current regions" - $10,000

Dr Brendan Kennedy        , Winthrop Professor David Sampson - collaboration with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Biophotonics Imaging Laboratory - project title:" Imaging the elasticity of human tissue using optical coherence tomography" - $5,000
