Wow!  What sports super-stars we all are! On the eve of Halloween, with a marquee decked out to instil fear into the very hearts of our opponents, our Faculty's staff and postgraduate students took part in UWA's  second annual Sports Day and walked away from many events victorious!

Whilst it was all about playing the game and having good fun, ECM stood victorious in a number of competitive events. Not only did our Faculty's strong tug-or-war team win the UWA Tug-of-War Trophy and Philip Schrader, of the School of Mathematics and Statistics, win first place in the men's final of the prestigious Vice Chancellor's Dash - but many of our fantastic Faculty players walked away from the novelty sports resplendent in first, second and third place ribbons! What more could we ask for?!

The day was off to a flying start with an exciting opening ceremony, including a banner parade and the lighting of the torch!  Our Faculty was proud to boast a torch bearer, with Tracey O'Keefe of OBEL flying our colours (in a colourful pumpkin hat!).

With teams playing in traditional sports ranging from Volleyball to Soccer, Chess to the WII Bowling Challenge and many of us all competing in the novelty events, it was all action and fun!  It was an excellent day and there are many photos to prove it!  Please view them at 2009-UWA-Staff Sports-Fun-Day .

Thank you to everyone who competed, cheered and helped out and made the day so successful!  Time to start training for next year...
