Responding to the current resources boom, the UWA Law Faculty is offering a new Graduate Diploma in Energy Law in 2010.

Centre for Mining and Engery and Natural Resources Associate Director, John Chandler says “this new 24-point postgraduate qualification will have a unique energy flavour. It emerged from a review of the existing courses offered through the Centre and complements the research activities of our Centre staff”. The course articulates with the Master of Commercial and Resources Law . The expected completion time for a full-time student is one year or two years part-time.

LAWS8589 Australian Oil and Gas Law , offered 16-18 February 2010 is one of three core units in the diploma and is a pre-requisite for LAWS8532 Oil and Gas Agreements offered 24-26 November 2010 (previously known as Commercial Aspects of Resource Development).

Application for the Graduate Diploma in Energy Law may be made to the Law Faculty now.
