This workshop is designed for lecturing staff who want to explore ways to foster deeper understanding in their students.

In this workshop you will discuss the basic principles of Problem Based Learning (PBL). Discussions will include advantages and disadvantages of PBL and some areas of curriculum development, problem writing and tutor training.

At the completion of this workshop you should be able to:

  • Describe the basic principles of PBL;
  • Describe basic principles of curriculum development;
  • Describe basic principles of PBL tutoring;
  • Apply the principles to your chosen discipline.
