Former journalist and television executive turned Conservative politician Ted Brocklebank will lead a delegation of Scottish MPs delivering a public lecture at The University of Western Australia on Monday October 12, 2009 to mark the first 10 years since devolution.

The first Members of Scottish Parliament to visit Australia since the Scottish Parliament was established in 1999. The cross-party delegation also includes Liberal Democrat Shadow Secretary for Health Ross Finnie ; Labour Member for Highlands and Islands Rhoda Grant ; and Sandra White , from the Scottish National Party.

Each speaker will reflect on the progress made in the first 10 years of the Scottish Parliament, including some of the Parliaments' successes, such as its innovative public engagement programs, and how the Parliament has reacted to recent political changes such as minority government.

They will also look at how devolution and the Scottish Parliament may develop and evolve in the future.

The delegation is visiting Australia and New Zealand through the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Scotland Branch.
