The Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia is proud to announce the inaugural Women In Resources Awards , to be presented on 8 March 2010 on International Women's Day.

The Women in Resources Awards recognise individuals and organisations working to build a world class industry which provides attractive career opportunities and develops people's capacity, including enhancing recognition and participation of women in the sector.

There are three nomination categories:

• Outstanding Woman in the WA Resources Sector - recognises an outstanding woman's contribution to the WA resources sector, her company and/or community
• Company Innovation Initiative - recognises a company that as implemented an innovative initiative, policy or practice which demonstrates successful attraction, selection, promotion or retention of women within the resources sector
• Women in Resources Champion - recognises an individual, male or female, who has encouraged and supported the attraction, selection, promotion or retention of women within the resources sector

Submissions must be sent by 11 January 2010 .

The judging panel will review all submissions that meet the eligibility requirements. Shortlisted entrants will be subject to an interview carried out by Chamber Minerals Energy representatives.
