The Faculty is delighted to offer our congratulations to PhD student Zhihui Ye from the School of Civil and Resource Engineering who won the Australia-China Natural Gas Technology Partnership Fund Top-up Scholarship.

Zhihui's research area for PhD project is about erosion threshold and erosion rate of seabed sediments. This research focuses on erosion properties of seabed sediments such as silts or muddy sands found at numerous offshore locations in the North West Shelf of WA.

A set of standard testing procedures and practical assessment methods for seabed sediment erosion behaviour is expected after a series of experiments and data analysing.

The objectives of Australia-China Natural Gas Technology Partnership Fund are to expand knowledge and information about the natural gas industry - how to utilize LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) at policy, legislative, commercial and technical levels, how to create opportunities for professional and technical staff training and development related to LNG and how to broaden corporate individual professional and technical networks.
