The applications for 2010 Fulbright Postgraduate Scholarship in Science and Engineering to undertake study or a research program in the United States valued up to $AU 50,000 will close 21 August 2009.

This scholarship is open to Australian Citizens to undertake postgraduate research or study in Science and Engineering in the United States towards an Australian higher degree, or enrolment in an American higher degree.

Applications are invited from postgraduates and graduates who have an interest and commitment to a career in Science and Engineering.

The program of study can commence any time between 1 July 2010 and the 30 June 2011.

Fulbright Scholarships include:

• National Orientation Program and a Fulbright Presentation Dinner
• Enrichment Seminars in the United States with international Fulbright Scholars
• Distinguished professional network in the U.S. and Australian Fulbright Alumni Associations
• A support agency in the U.S. that assists with visas, events, and networks
• A J1 visa that allows Fulbright Scholars to work in their field in the U.S. for a further year following their study
• Media support and publicity

Current Australian Postgraduates are encouraged to apply as they can now put their Australian PhD on hold to undertake a Fulbright Scholarship.
