Third year Law/Commerce student Georgia Baker has been selected in the Under-23 Australian Women’s Rowing Team to compete in the women’s quad scull at the World Championships.

The event will be held in the Czech Republic in July .

UWA supports elite athletes in pursuit of their academic and sporting aspirations.

Georgia balances her studies around training. “I try to do as many units as possible each semester whilst working it around my training load. This year, my crew is located in Canberra, which meant moving here early May and finishing my units externally.

“I simply listen to my lectures online, read the text books and sit my exams with a supervisor. Whilst it's not the ideal situation for doing a Law degree, rowing is a priority for me at this stage in my life and I will continue to juggle the two commitments the best I can!”
