The workshop is aimed at those of you who are new to tutoring or looking to develop your teaching skills.

In this workshop, you will examine a range of strategies for facilitating discussion and running engaging, interactive classes.

At the conclusion of the workshop you will:

  • Better understand the purpose of seminars and tutorials and your role as tutor;
  • Be able to establish and maintain a supportive learning environment that recognises and accommodates diversity;
  • Have a range of strategies from which you can draw to engage students in the learning process;
  • Be able to address management issues in the classroom.

The workshops will be run in such a way as to model the facilitation of a small group teaching session using group discussion and exercises, mini lectures and activities.
