UWA engineering students are leading the way in finding environmentally sustainable technologies for future transportation. The Renewable Energy Vehicle (REV) Project is providing students with opportunities to undertake research and development in battery, controller technology, network infrastructure and sustainable alternatives to traditional fuels such as petrol and diesel.

The REV Team launched its electric plug-in commuter Hyundai Getz in 2008. This year, the team has an ambitious plan to convert the first electric sport car using a Lotus Eilse while maintaining optimum performance. Each car is 100% electric, powered by recyclable lithium-ion batteries and produces no emissions.

The REV Team is grateful to the Department for Planning and Infrastructure, Gull Petroleum Group and Galaxy Resources for their generous support. We invite our alumni and industry partners for a test drive and to meet the student team.
