If you know any current WA TEE students in Year 11 or 12 with an interest in astronomy or physics, UWA's ‘A Day in the Life of an Astronomy Student' may be for them. For one fantastic day in the July school holidays they can take part in lots of exciting activities and demonstrations to explore the field of astronomy at UWA. Activities will include:

  • Locating and viewing sunspots
  • Learning about radio telescopes and their part in the Square Kilometre Array; the biggest earth-based science project Australia and the world have ever embarked on
  • Viewing the Tesla Coil
  • Discussions with current UWA staff and students about study, research and career opportunities in astronomy

This fantastic event is happening on Tuesday, 14th July 2009, at no cost to participants. Applications close on Friday, 12th June 2009. For more information please contact the UWA Prospective Students Office on 6488 2477.
