The Progressive Law Students' Association is a group of UWA law students working for the benefit of the wider community. They encourage legal activism and education on a wide range of human rights and social justice issues, both within Australia and overseas.

In the past they have hosted public lectures on human rights litigation, held forums on international volunteering and made submissions to State and Federal legislative consultations.

Every year the PLSA sends one UWA law student on a summer internship to Papua New Guinea to assist in Transparency International's fight against corruption.

In 2009 the PLSA have been busy, with a lecture on stolen generations compensation, a submission to the national Human Rights Act consultation, a fundraising movie screening of Samson & Delilah and a public forum on mandatory sentencing.

They are always looking for new ideas and ways to promote their aims. Please email the Association with your enquiries about membership and other information.
