The Faculty is delighted to announce that UWA Motorsport won the 2009 UWA Award for Excellence in Teaching in the category "Program".

In particular, we would like to congratulate Dr Angus Tavner and Mr Lynn Kirkham who both received certificates from the Vice-Chancellor in recognition of their exceptional contribution in running this programme. They were also nominated to the Australian Learning and Teaching Council for an Award in Programs that Enhance Learning (in the category Innovation in Curricula, Learning and Teaching).

The annual University Teaching Award Ceremony (incorporating the Vice-Chancellor's Invitational Lecture) took place the 20th of May and was held at Winthrop Hall.

Each year UWA Motorsport puts together a team of students to design, build and race a Formula SAE Motorsport car.

In 2007, the UWA team won the overall award for Formula SAE Australasia.
Formula SAE is a major annual international competition, run by the Society of Automotive Engineers, in which some 200 universities from North America, Europe, Asia and Australasia compete.

UWA Motorsport provides a unique opportunity for undergraduates to learn and develop multi-disciplinary teamwork plus innovative, design, leadership, management, marketing, finance and practical skills.
