Cheryl Praeger, Federation Fellow in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, is Australia’s most highly cited pure mathematician within the top 200 most highly cited mathematicians worldwide. Her exceptional support for her students and colleagues has not only benefited their careers but has also attracted numerous mathematicians to Praeger’s research area.

Two international conferences are being held in honour of Cheryl Praeger. Earlier this year her Chinese colleagues organised and dedicated the “Second International Workshop on Groups and Algebraic Combinatorics”. In 2009, the highlight of the celebrations in Perth will be an AMSI (Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute) theme program on “Group Theory, Combinatorics, & Computation” to take place at UWA, 5-16 January.
