For: All staff and students developing LP applications for the May round (UWA deadline is 29th April).  This session has been developed for members of the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics, but members of other faculties are welcome. FYI there will be a FLAPS Linkage Refresher session in April - date, venue and time to be advised.

When: Tuesday 24th March
Time: 1.00pm (sharp) - 2.00pm
Place: Computer Science Seminar Room 1.24 (General Purpose Building 1, southern end of carpark 20  - opposite end to Art Gallery - up external steps, through doors and straight on)

Speaker: Laurie Faraone, ARC College of Experts Panel member and LP winner.
Content: The one-hour session will provide a refresher on Linkage Project Application requirements, with tips on developing a winning application, including:

  • ARC investment in Linkage Projects - why, how much, success rates
  • The % weighting for each area assessed by the panel
  • Who's on the assessment panels (College of Experts)
  • What the panels like to see
  • What the expert reader's like to see
  • How to provide evidence of a genuine partnership
  • How to show the significance and innovation
  • How to show the National Benefit
  • Construction of the budget - what can be requested and ideas for in-kind contributions
  • Justification of the budget
  • What a supporting letter should include
  • Summary of main points to remember
