Friday, 6 March 2009

In August, more than 160 UWA Alumni attended cocktail functions in Singapore (at the Singapore Cricket Club) and Kuala Lumpur (the Malaysian Petroleum Club). The events, hosted by the UWA Chancellor Michael Chaney and Vice-Chancellor Professor Alan Robson, were a wonderful opportunity for alumni to listen to a very distinguished alumnus of UWA, our first Nobel Laureate, Professor Barry Marshall. He talked about the Nobel Prize system and how he worked with Emeritus Professor Robin Warren to win the Nobel Prize in Medicine or Physiology in 2005. Guests were totally enthralled.

Alumni of all ages enjoyed a buffet meal, catching up with old friends and networking with fellow UWA alumni and their guests.
