The School of Biomedical, Biomolecular and Chemical Sciences celebrated several milestones involving its four teaching disciplines last October. The celebrations included the 95th anniversary of the establishment of Chemistry, and the 50th anniversaries of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Physiology. These four disciplines merged in 2002 to form the current School which commenced operations in 2003. The Dean, Professor George Stewart, hosted the celebrations which were attended by some 265 current and former staff, students and friends.

Professor George Stewart and Professor Geoff Stewart (Head of School) made speeches and took guests back in time to reflect on the pioneers and the buildings and equipment that were once “state-of-the-art”.

As part of the celebrations, the School would like to invite Alumni to attend one of its upcoming building tours showcasing the School’s three precincts.
